What's "homatino"?

The '' homatino '' is a ceramics workshop which took its name from the clay's raw material, i.e. the soil. It was established in 1976 by potter-ceramist Michael Paltoglou. Since then, ceramics of unique design and high quality are manufactured entirely by hand. Followers of his art are his children, Efharis and Nikos Paltoglou who show the same zeal in creating forms based on more contemporary influences. Experimentation and continuous search are two features that led them to create a range of novel ceramic objects, decorative and utilitarian, standing out for their aesthetics.
